Position Summary
State and Local Tax Manager will be responsible for tax administration and the planning of all state local taxes by performing, organizing, and supervising processes and work product.
Position Functions
Planning and administration of all state and local taxes including; income, franchise, premium, sales/use, and personal property
Creating and implementing policies and procedures
Manage and improve state tax compliance processes
Provide direction to senior executives on state tax planning matters and issues
Assist with sales and use tax, addressing nexus issues, product and service taxability and sales and use tax examinations
Background Profile
Undergraduate degree in Finance,
Accounting
, or Business Administration- with a
CPA
, CMA, FSA, or an advanced degree in financial discipline
5+ years progressive experience,2+ years at management level, supervising the state and local tax return process in a multi-state corporate tax department or with a public
accounting
firm tax department
4 years experience managing direct reports
Considerable experience with Insource tax preparation software or similar tax preparation software
Knowledge of sales/use tax including product taxability, process of management of use tax, and sales/ use tax exams, along with assessment of nexus issues
