Description PURPOSE:
Provide leadership and coordination of company/financial planning and budget management functions. Ensure company accounting procedures conform to generally accepted accounting principles.

QUALIFICATIONS:
BS/BA in Accounting, (advanced degree preferred) with 10 or more years of related experience. CPA, MBA or CMA is required. Must have medium to large company accounting management or supervisory experience.

RELATIONSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES:
Number of direct / indirect reports. Business analysts, staff accountants, Manager of Financial Accounting, Accounting Manager
Internal/external contacts and purpose of contacts: A/P and A/R staff, outside vendors, customers, government agencies, corporate staff (i.e. this is a Divisional HQ of a $2.5 B company located out of state) and upper management team

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITY AREAS:
Manage daily operations of the accounting department and provide a positive working environment
Manage the professional development of the accounting department staff
A/P; A/R; Fixed Assets management
Maximize cash flow and control vendor payments
Responsible for maintaining the internal control environment financial and IT system
Responsible for all financial reporting
Responsible for review of all journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
Prepare monthly and year-end closings
Manage IT Department functions
Accurate reporting and analyses of inventories
Prepare monthly and quarterly fluxes for corporate management
Review and verify quarterly management representation letter for corporate management
Prepare quarterly external audit fluxes and work papers
Responsible for coordination of all on-site internal and external audits
Conduct semi-annual system user reviews
Manage system user access controls
Responsible for chart of accounts maintenance and review
Serve on planning and policy making committees
Support software system conversions
