Description* Direct financial reporting both internally and externally and coordinate annual audits.
* Manage the accounting functions including General Accounting, Accounts Payable, Payroll, Treasury, and Tax.
* Coordinate income tax information with outside advisors.
* Monitor and drive implementation of new accounting rules & GAAP developments and prepare updates for upper management.
* Proactively keep abreast of the Companys business practices to ensure that accounting practices evolve with the business to continue in compliance with GAAP.
* Appraise operating results in terms of costs, budgets and operating policies, trends and increased profit opportunities.
* Assist CFO in establishing effective systems for tracking financial performance on a real time basis, GAAP accounting compliance and their relationship to overall operations of the business.
* Maintain professional employee performance standards through proper orientation, training, and counseling.
* Promote fair and equitable employee relations, resolve employee grievances and discipline employees according to policies and conduct employee performance appraisals.
QUALIFICATIONS:
* MUST HAVE BS/BA degree in Accounting/Finance or related field, along with CPA. MBA is a plus.
* Minimum of 10 years of accounting experience including senior financial management and international consolidation experience.
* In-depth knowledge of successful finance and operations systems and strategies to assure tight controls and sound financial reporting.
* Must be strong in cost accounting, expense management and financial analysis with a good understanding of cost accounting in a food or manufacturing environment.
* Knowledge of SOX/SEC
* International experience (specifically Mexico) wtih foreign currency exchange (pesos to dollars) and hedging experience
* Deal effectively with the details involved with a middle market company yet still have the big picture focus associated with the companys growth.
* Strong and supportive team player who can serve as a strong business partner to the CFO and also able to partner across functional boundaries.
* Thrive in an entrepreneurial environment that has a high intensity, fast-paced level thats always evolving with demonstrated leadership.
