POSITION DESCRIPTION:   The primary objective of incumbents will be producing timely, accurate, reliable and relevant financial information effectively and efficiently.  Based on focus area incumbents will be responsible for a variety of financial and/or POSITION DESCRIPTION:   The primary objective of incumbents will be producing timely, accurate, reliable and relevant financial information effectively and efficiently.  Based on focus area incumbents will be responsible for a variety of financial and/or managerial accounting activities including but not limited to assisting with the completion of month-end close, reporting on key performance indicators, providing internal managerial reports to a variety of stakeholder groups, managing data in enterprise management software (SAP), standard setting, monitoring and documenting internal controls 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Conduct month-end close functions including the development of month-end journal entries; reconciling related balance sheet accounts; month-end analysis and variance explanations; ensuring proper cut-off and reconciling variances; communicating significant or unusual business matters 
•Accounting support functions – financial and internal audits; quarterly and year-end financial schedules; year-end corporate tax schedules; work with the Business Solutions team to maintain/monitor requests for system enhancements and support the development of business cases for system enhancements
•Review and enter journal entries into SAP while ensuring we are accounting for all activities in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. Maintain appropriate tracking and reporting of journal activity. Follow up with internal clients on journal entry discrepancies, issues, and questions.
•Maintain various financial transactions and data within SAP in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. Audit and ensure data accuracy within SAP as needed.
•Develop, consolidate, prepare and maintain a variety of reports on either a scheduled and/or ad-hoc basis based on need. Body of work includes preparation of financial statements and/or managerial reports within assigned area of responsibility. Work closely with internal stakeholders to identify and implement reporting needs.
•Proactively monitor, develop, document and implement policies, procedures and processes to effectively meet rapid growth and to ensure information being provided is relevant, accurate, timely, and in accordance with Company policy. 
•Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures for accounting processes and procedures. May involve the maintenance of end user documentation and training. 
•Provide accounting support in a shared service environment to a variety of business groups and units including both corporate client groups and manufacturing sites.
•Develop and implement processes that support continuous improvement and strong business results.
•Document, Implement, and Audit internal controls where appropriate.
•Ensure compliance with Company policies. Foster a culture that encourages the highest level of integrity and ethical behavior 
•Other duties as assigned

PREFERRED CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS:

•Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or closely related field required. 
•At least one year of general accounting and finance work experience required. Internships, co-ops, and other work experiences gained in the field of accounting and finance during completion of degree are acceptable.
•Preference for candidates who have accounting and/or finance experience with a CPG or manufacturing company.

•Excellent communication skills, both written and oral

•Ability to identify issues/control weaknesses and develop and implement recommendations for resolution
•Working knowledge of a large accounting ERP software platform (such as SAP) helpful
