The Sr.Cost Accountant is responsible for cost accounting activities for the company.
Develops and maintains standard costs ensuring that they are updated timely.
Analyzes manufacturing variances, and performs capitalized variance calculations.
Calculates excess & obsolescence (E&O) reserve in accordance with corporate policy.
Performs account reconciliations related to inventory.
Processes costing requests, as needed.
Updates and maintains fixed asset program, and reconciles to general ledger.
Responsible for personal property tax filings.
Keeps abreast of current trends, practices and developments, as well as systems and procedures in the profession and makes recommendations for implementation.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a major in Cost Accounting, Accounting or Finance.
Internal & Auditing Experience necessary.
Three to five years of experience ideally in a manufacturing industry through positions held with increasing responsibility within the Cost Accounting field.
