  • Prepare consolidating and consolidated monthly financial statements in conformity with the US GAAP and related international GAAP; considerations include different types of entity structures such as LLC, C-Corporation, etc.
  • Assist in preparation and coordination of all audit requirements from the company’s Big 4 external auditors.
  • Prepare internal control matrix for significant accounts and document transaction process flow as needed.
  • Review account reconciliations prepared by staff accountant.
  • Review month-end close journal entries of staff accountant.
  • Perform audit procedures on account balances on a periodic basis, and document the accounting position of the company, in a form of accounting memo, for significant transactions and accounts such as:
Inventory and cost of goods sold (FIFO, LIFO, LCM)
Related party balances
Goodwill and Intangibles
Variable interest entities consolidation
Equity method of accounting
Business combinations versus Asset acquisitions
Foreign currency transactions and translations (OCI)
Deferred income taxes
  •  Provide guidance to and collaborate with other members of the team on complex accounting issues in compliance with most recent accounting pronouncements and standards.
  • Review monthly translation of foreign subsidiaries financial statements into US required financial statements and prepare necessary journal entry to upload to the system.
  • Prepare reports and schedules necessary to support tax requirements.
  • Prepare monthly summary reports explaining the results of operations for the month, quarter and year as compared to prior years.  Present reports through an Executive review meeting (CFO and other members of the Finance & Sales teams)
Essential Skills, Experience, and Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, CPA highly required.
  • 2-5 years of work experience responsible for all variety of accounting/audit functions, financial statement audit experience highly preferred and from a reputable audit firm a plus.
  • Excellent system skills including the ability to structure meaningful Excel reports and supporting analyses; JD Edwards and/or Hyperion or Adaptive Consolidation or similar accounting software experience preferred.
  • Experience working with a high volume manufacturing company preferred.
  • Experience with and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams.
  • Fluent in English; knowledge of foreign language is a plus.
  • Would like to work or live in the wine country.
