The Senior Tax Analyst will focus on federal and state income tax compliance, tax accounting, planning and research. The position will also be responsible for understanding the Up-C tax structure, including key issues in partnership taxation, such as capital account maintenance and Section 704(c) issues, with a focus on evaluating and implementing complex partnership transactions.  You will be responsible for updating and maintaining the tax receivable calculations model, managing state notices, and maintaining the tax compliance calendar. This position requires interaction with the corporate accounting group as well as other business groups within our company. To be successful in this role, you should have excellent analytical skills, motivation and confidence to independently address issues.
 
SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Preparation and review of quarterly ASC 740 calculations
Drive process improvements around all tax processes especially internal controls over financial reporting for tax.
Preparation/Review of the U.S. partnership and corporation federal income tax returns
Preparation/Review of state income and franchise tax returns
Preparation of state estimated income tax payments, partnership withholding payments and composite returns
Preparation of monthly tax journal entries and account reconciliations
Update and maintain the tax receivable calculations model and TRA payments; including all partner capital allocations and revaluations due to ongoing equity changes
Assist with tax authority notices and/or audits as needed
Assist in the development of recommendations and implementation plans and assist in making quality decisions in complex and judgmental areas.
Supervise the work of staff professionals
Assisting with other projects as necessary
 
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree, with an emphasis in accounting, finance, or business, required
An advanced degree in tax or CPA is preferred
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in public accounting or corporate tax department
A combination of public accounting and corporate tax experiences is highly desirable
Knowledge of OneSource Income Tax a plus
Strong knowledge of partnership and corporation taxation principles
Strong knowledge of US GAAP accounting principles
Strong technical tax background; strong tax research and compliance skills
Well organized; plans, organizes and monitors performance according to priorities

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
