Role of the Tax Senior
The Tax Senior is responsible for organizing and managing client assignments and projects, including the completion of assignments and tasks and project components, as well as coaching, advising and directing team members. The Tax Senior should be proficient with tax compliance for individuals, pass-through entities and corporations. The Tax Senior will lead in the effective and efficient operations of each engagement. This practice area should reflect firm values: a quality process and outcome, IRS knowledge and compliance, excellent client communication that results in our firm’s reputation as a preferred partner in this area of service. This position reports to the Tax Manager with interaction with the Senior Manager and Partner level.
The Tax Manager has a general knowledge and application of the relevant professional standards, emerging laws and regulations, and corporate governance requirements. Applies technical expertise and interprets laws, regulations and standards to formulate client related recommendations, solves complex business problems, has well developed consulting skills, develops an understanding of client businesses and uses this knowledge to help diagnose needs, opportunities and suggest solutions. The Tax Manager can plan, manage and deliver quality service on time and within budget while projecting confidence and credibility in dealing with clients.

Demonstrated strength in preparing and reviewing tax returns and related documents for corporate and pass-thru entities as well as individuals and estates.
Proficiency in tax research and translation into actionable plans or recommendations
Strong accounting and analytical skills
Ability to multi-task and complete assignments within required time constraints and deadlines.
Three to five years of experience in public accounting, specializing in tax.
Ability to review or execute complex tax planning projects and identification of additional planning opportunities.
Proficiency with most forms of information technology and comfort level with tax preparation software tools.
Familiarity with IRS practice and procedure. Primary contact for IRS audit or other tax authorities.
EDUCATION and LICENSES
Bachelor's degree in accounting.
Certified Public Accountant and/or Masters of Tax in Accounting preferred but not required
