The Position:  Senior Financial Analyst

Job Summary
  • Prepare complex financial reports and analysis for business unit management personnel at all levels.
  • Provide other finance support and special projects as required.
  • Train financial analyst and work closely with the Accounting Manager – Finance in developing reports and models to improve the business operations.
Essential Job Functions
  • Prepare monthly budget variance analysis and forecasting reports and provide recommendations.
  • Prepare monthly key performance indicator metrics reports and provide analysis on trends and drivers.
  • Develop financial and business models to provide the business additional insight to make decisions on improving the business.
  • Prepare and review special projects and initiatives to provide critical feedback to business partners.
  • Perform consolidation and analysis on annual strategic and financial planning.
  • Prepare ad hoc reports, analysis and conduct special projects as necessary.
  • Analyze underlying business factors that drive expenses within the department.
  • Provide critical feedback on capital appropriation proposals.
  • Conduct financial review of vendors and review Capital Appropriation Proposals.
  • Lead process improvement projects.
  • Promotes safety at all times and complies with safety/ergonomic standards as outlined in relevant company published manuals.
Education Requirements
  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required.
  • Must have passed CPA, CFA or CMA exam or have MBA.
Experience Requirements
  • Minimum of 5+ years of prior Accounting or Finance experience – especially Financial Planning and Analysis
  • Candidates must be either US Citizens or possess a Green Card
  • Advanced Excel skills including working knowledge of pivot tables, macros and functions.
  • Proficient in Access and SAP.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting
  • Develop financial and business models
  • Willingness to travel – occasionally
The Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years’ experience in Accounting or Finance.  They will have a basic understanding of the operations side of the businesses they support.  They will be a team player as the group they work within is small so sharing information to make the team better is important.  They will be motivated and have a curiosity for finding the main drivers of expenses and provide critical feedback on those findings.  Their resume will show increasing responsibility as they have progressed through their career path.  They will have budgeting and forecasting as well as investment analysis experience.  Technical skills are very important as well.  Advanced Excel, Access and SAP skills are critical in this role.
