Senior Accountant

Established growing company is seeking motivated candidates for the position of Senior Accountant supporting our global Controller function as well as, our financial operations globally. This is an excellent opportunity to use your month-end consolidation skills while growing your career in a highly visible position.  The role also provides the opportunity to learn SOX Compliance Testing and expand your systems skills.  Successful candidates will possess superior analytical and technical skills and will report to the Director, Assistant Global Controller.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Assist in providing timely and accurate consolidated information to support internal reporting requirements as well as monthly, quarterly and annual Corporate reporting requirements:
    • Responsible for monthly global consolidation of actual results for the P&L and balance sheet used by the CFO/Finance team and also for Corporate.
    • Prepare monthly financial package for the senior finance team and management.
    • Analyze monthly operating results of each region.
    • Input and review monthly/quarterly statistics, leadership metrics, and supplemental files.
    • Act as a liaison between corporate and regional finance leads to communicate new reporting requirements, changes and other information required to ensure compliance with reporting requirements.
    • Provide timely communications to regional finance leads, including communication of the monthly close calendar and related flash reviews, to meet close deadlines.
    • Monthly reporting on functional indirect spending - T&E, consulting, recruiting.
  • Coordinate and support Corporate activities and initiatives with counterparts in four regions globally..
  • Participate in global finance projects and initiatives aimed at improving efficiency, increasing standard work and creating global processes.   
  • Assist in the maintenance of a strong SOX-compliant control environment including participation in the anti-corruption self-testing process.
  • Support business audits conducted by external and internal auditors, as required.
  • Assist in the maintenance and enforcement of internal authorization levels including compliance with the Approval Matrix.
  • Support, as required, the integration of acquisitions including the monitoring of purchase accounting activity as well as post acquisition integration activities.
  • Provide support to financial operations in the areas of general accounting, commercial support, planning & forecasting, and any other accounting/finance related activities deemed appropriate to be added to the Shared Service Center for North and South America.
  • Support functional areas, as required, by providing financial and business analytic support.
  • Work closely with the FP&A function in business support and analysis, as required.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities within the functional area as well as throughout the organization. 
  • Provide detailed on-going financial support to aid in meeting Controllership goals and objectives.
 
Qualifications:
  • BS/BA in Finance/Accounting required
  • 3+ years of increasing responsibility in consolidation and financial analysis roles, preferably in a $1B+ multinational or publicly-traded organization possessing manufacturing operations required.  Shared Service Center experience is a plus.
  • Previous systems experience required — Oracle a plus.
  • Ability to travel both domestic and international up to 10% 
  • Must demonstrate proficiency and have experience in the financial close and consolidations process and the ability to work in a fast-paced, success-driven organization that operates with the mantra “Best Team Wins!”
  • Will have the presence to challenge the status quo, elevate issues and keep the Director, Assistant Global Controller advised of current and evolving matters.
  • Must be capable of operating independently, but readily seek the counsel of others, when necessary.
  • Can balance the demands of financial accuracy with operational effectiveness.
  • Will possess solid oral/written communication skills and advanced analysis skills.
