The Senior Accountant will assist the Accounting Manager with the monthly and year end accounting close process, lead accountant for all contribution revenue, investments, net assets and endowment accounting and assist with preparation for annual audit and tax return.

Core Responsibilities

  • Accounting for all Contributed Revenue, including Endowments
  • Coordinate and reconcile budget, expenses and revenue for Foundation and Grant Reporting
  • Accounting for Investments
  • Calculation of Net Assets, temporary, permanent and board designated
  • Maintain barter/trade register and ensure monthly accounting for transactions
  • Ensure sub-ledger and external systems for revenue reconcile to the general ledger
  • Balance sheet account reconciliations, as assigned
  • Prepare audit schedules and Form 990 tax schedules, as assigned
  • Ad-hoc reports and requests as assigned

Absolutely Required Skills / Knowledge / Ability / Experience or Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related discipline
  • 8-10 years of experience as an Accountant
  • Solid understanding of general accounting concepts
  • Attention to detail and is committed to producing accurate and well organized work
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Ability to multi-task and execute under pressure

Desired Skills / Knowledge / Ability / Experience or Education

  • Experience with GP Dynamics 2016, Intacct  a plus
  • Experience with Raisers Edge, Intacct or QuickBooks a plus
  • Knowledge and experience with non-profit fund accounting
  • Advanced experience in Excel including using V-look ups and pivot tables
