Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Retail Accounting Assistant is responsible for a wide range of accounting duties to support the accounting of Topo Designs Retail, LLC.
• B.A. or B.S. degree in Accounting, Business or related field of study
• 3-4 years of progressive accounting work
Responsibilities: • Ensures timely and accurate processing of accounts payable: Receives, verifies, and posts accounts payable invoices into accounting system • Verifies cash and credit card deposits and returns with POS system, credit card processing system and bank • Reconciles data between systems within the Accounting Department and Retail stores • Accounts for gift cards, store credits and other journal entries on a monthly or as needed basis • Receives corporate credit card expense reports and receipts and reconciles on a monthly basis • Reviews, audits, and processes employee expense reimbursements: Verifies accuracy of expenses and adherence to company policies • Assists with month-end close of financials and runs reports as required • Prepares and files monthly and quarterly sales tax and related reports for multiple city and state jurisdictions • Maintains accounting department files and administrative records • Sorts and distributes internal and external mail • Performs general clerical duties including but not limited to filing, photocopying, typing
Qualifications/Skils: • Experience with inventory • Experience in the consumer goods industry • Experience with QuickBooks • Acute attention to detail and strong organizational skills • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
