The successful candidate for this position is someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, likes challenges and can adapt quickly to an ever-changing work environment while performing the following duties:

Duties:

  • Process biweekly payroll and post to G/L
  • Update Paychex employee deduction information
  • Process  bonus and sales commission payments
  • Calculate withholdings for manual checks issued between payrolls
  • Submit various benefits withheld from employee checks to third party administrators (Section 125, H.S.A., 401K, etc.), review annual 1095-C (proof of health care coverage) forms prepared by Paychex
  • Follow up with Paychex on any Payroll and Payroll Tax related issues
  • Prepare 941-X (revised quarterly 941 forms) as necessary (third party sick employer FICA)
  • Submit State Workers Compensation rates to Paychex annually
  • Prepare schedules for annual Workers Compensation Insurance audit, prepare month end payroll accrual for G/L.  Compile health insurance premiums and excess group term life insurance benefits for reporting on year-end W-2
  • Assist in calculating  monthly sales commissions; Prepare and process excess leave balance payouts
  • Prepare and submit long-term disability year end W-2 forms
  • Submit quarterly employer contributions to HSA provider; post out of cash reimbursements distributed to participants on the HRA Plan
    • Review monthly invoices from third party  administrators to verify that employee changes are processed
    • Assist in administration of the company 401K plan
    • Assist in preparation of confidential shareholder information and dividend payments

Qualifications:

  • Must have an associate’s degree or equivalent training and a minimum of 5 years of payroll or related bookkeeping experience
  • Experience with payroll in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Strong computer skills and experience with ERP systems
  • Knowledgeable in MS Office suite, particularly Excel
  • Excellent skills in working with others
  • Posting accuracy and attention to detail
  • Good knowledge of accounting/bookkeeping
  • Natural curiosity and inquisitive mind
