Director of Payroll - Fort Lauderdale, FL

Our client, a leader in the industry, based in South Florida market is looking for a hands-on yet strategic, Director of Payroll to come and join their explosively growing firm. Ideal candidate should have the ability and the experience rolling up their sleeves working in a fast paced, high volume environment with 10k+ employees but also have experience streamlining and improving processes already in place. Company is growing organically and via acquisitions and will need a strategic partner capable of being flexible and adaptable to the constant changes it is facing due to their growth. Salary is commensurate with exp and will be fairly compensated. 

Primary Job Responsibilities

-          Responsible for all payroll functions to accomplish payroll processing objectives

-          Processing of employee payroll to include overseeing  payment of expense reimbursements, accurate payroll payments, proper calculation of wages/overtime and deductions

-          Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements in overseeing the reporting of payroll earnings

-          Partner with the accounting and HR team to address questions regarding payroll and paychecks with employees

-          Update payroll policies and procedures as necessary to maintain payroll guidelines

-          Creation of payroll reports

-          Suggest process improvements to increase efficiency

-          Additional assignments and special projects as needed

 

Job Requirements

-          Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting/Finance or related field

-          5+ years’ experience with a mid-large size organization in a Payroll, Accounting and/or Audit capacity

-          3+ years’ management experience

-          Knowledge of federal, state and local payroll tax laws

-          Strong technical knowledge of commonly used payroll concepts, practices and   procedures

-          Must maintain confidentiality about payroll information

-          Ability to prioritize responsibilities to ensure all deadlines related to payroll are met in an appropriate time frame

-          Ability to interact with all levels of personnel while providing excellent customer service
