Provide the day to day customer service for the Sinclair Bookstore Store. Processes cash register transactions, assist customers and answers questions regarding merchandise and services.
Handling shipping and receiving of course materials and setting up Courseview campus store for inventory.
Responsible for the safeguard of collected revenue.
Recording, reconciling, and daily deposit preparation of check transactions.
Daily count of cash drawer and vault and faxing a balancing sheet to the downtown campus stores cash office.
Cashiering and cash handling to include:
PC based cashiering
End of day closing, reconciling, and daily deposit preparation
Buy back books
Daily handling of in-coming freight, logging and distributing merchandise to the sales area. Receive all in-coming freight in WinPrism computer system.
Work with Textbook buyers; arrange to have correct quantity of course materials available at Courseview store.
Coordinate with stock & receiving supervisor to do quarterly course material inventory.
Set up course material department (hang shelf tag, allocate space maintaining an organized area easy for the customers to shop).
Inspect all incoming merchandise, assure in good condition or report otherwise; decide which merchandise (textbooks) has priority because of existing stock or student needs; allocated shelf space for books based on prior knowledge as to movement and timing of demand. Notify textbook buyers / Asst. Manager.
Coordinate with textbook buyers, the return of un-used text books to publisher at the end of the quarter.
Box and ship buy back books to downtown campus. Buy back books that belong to Courseview should be returned to shelves.
Physical requirements of Job:
Standing for long periods of time.
Bending and moving small boxes of books (50 lb)
