The Business Development - Oil Field Polymer Surfactants
is a high visibility position and will be responsible for:
Preparation of proposals for company technology and related products.
Work will include, but not limited to preparing, conducting and analyzing pilot test work with subsequent scale up calculations, technology application, feasibility study, pricing of systems, and preparation of process and mechanical specifications to accompany the proposal.
Responsible for maintaining customer contact on all proposal and test work related matters.
This position requires frequent travel to visit existing and potential customers for proposal follow up, lead qualification, presentations, seminars, trade shows, etc.
At time of order award, review sales order for technical and commercial accuracy and review orders with the Business Development - Oil Field Polymers Surfacnts when problems are observed.
Initiate new order kick off with other company associate and assist on all after order process and commercial related issues.
Assist in the process start up of systems supplied.
EDUCATION: BS degree is required - PhD or MS degree preferred. Polymer Science, Plastics Engineering or Chemical Engineering. BSChE with chemical process background.
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE: Process engineering and experience in selling any polymers and sufactants.
Excellent written and oral communications skills are required.
PRIOR EXPERIENCE: Minimum ten (10) years of relevant experience in commercial sales of polymers, sufactants or chemical services.
Demonstrated strong relationships within the Oil Field (EOR) Industry
Demonstrated ability to grow sales and commercialize new products within the Oil Field Industry
Experience working with Oil Field Chemical companies - competitive polymer (polyacrylamides) and EOR service solutions
Experience in fermentation process technology and bio-polymers
Ability to predict emerging trends in Enhanced Oil Recovery applications
Experience in Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) applications
Demonstrated ability to successfully negotiate confidentiality, material transfer and supply agreements
The job also shall requires the candidate to travel, on short notice, extensively at times, nationally and internationally (Mexico, Canada, Europe).
The responsibilities shall also include the development of relationships and networking with customers, industry organizations and societies ,universities and R&D centers.
Work at trade shows.
Must have excellent Communication and Presentation skills.
