JOB SUMMARY
:
 
Reduce lost revenue from short pays, compliance fines, freight claims and supplier claims by proactively reviewing CMARS, invoice disputes and carrier reports. Analyze data to file legitimate claims to recoup losses and make recommendations to internal operations to prevent future claims and losses. Improve the customer experience by contributing solutions and remedies to providing the customer with a perfect delivery or experience with our products.
 
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES, DUTIES & TASKS (list in order):
  • Collect data from CMARs, to file claims with Carriers or Suppliers
  • Gather documents to support claim where required and file claim
  • Respond to any internal or external inquires on Freight and Supplier claims
  • Maintain data base for claims tracking from creation to resolution
  • Prepare reports for accounting accruals, account receivable reconciliation, distribution report cards, carrier & supplier performance reporting
  • Maintain positive working relationship with Carriers and Suppliers to resolve claims with speed and accuracy
  • Document processes and create a Overage, Shortage and Damage (OSD) standard operating procedure manual
  • Document carrier & supplier policies on claim process, timelines, limits and exceptions
  • Process claims quickly yet accurately, follow-up for resolution and ensure deductions are processed to AP when Carriers or Suppliers exceed time frames for resolution
  • Other duties as required or projects as assigned
Education:
  • Bachelors Four (4) Year Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain or Transportation and/or Supplier claims preferred or equivalent experience required
Experience: 
  • Knowledge of CARMACK Amendment, Federal Motor Carrier Regulations and Customer Contracts preferred
  • Two or more years of freight claim research and resolution, transportation customer service or deduction analysis
  • Ability to multi-task, demonstrating a clear bias for action and a sense of urgency on priorities
  • Ability to write and send proper business correspondence to internal departments and external carriers and suppliers
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret transportation documentation, carrier and supplier contracts
  • Navigate carrier & supplier websites for shipment and transaction history
