We are seeking a driven Controller to oversee all areas of finance and accounting for a privately held manufacturing company based in Janesville, WI. The Controller is responsible for directing the fiscal functions of the company in accordance with industry best practices, generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), and other regulatory and advisory organizations.
 
Responsibilities include:
  • Plan, develop, organize, implement, direct and evaluate the organization's fiscal function and performance.
  • Participate in the development of the corporation's strategic plans and programs as a strategic partner.
  • Develop credibility for the finance group by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial reports and financial trends to assist and support the Executive Team.
  • Process owner for the company ERP system.
  • Manage the company employee benefits program including payroll, health care and 401K.
  • Enhance and/or develop, implement and enforce policies, procedures, and systems that improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the corporation.
  • Optimize the handling of bank and deposit relationships and initiate appropriate strategies to enhance cash position.
  • Develop a reliable cash flow projection process and reporting mechanism that includes minimum cash threshold to meet operating needs.
  • Serve as financial advisor on any contracts into which the corporation may enter.
  • Evaluate the finance division structure and team plan for continuous improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the group. Coach and develop team, providing growth opportunities where possible.
 
Requirements:
  • 4-year degree required. Advanced degree/certifications a plus
  • 5-10 years of related experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong financial management skills, business acumen, and work ethic, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communicator with all levels of the organization. Proven ability to mentor, motivate and persuade others.
  • Strong leadership skills demonstrated through championing accountability, maximizing team and individual strengths, seeking and implementing change and aligning with critical business objectives.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships.
  • Advanced presentation, written and verbal communication skills
  • Team player with integrity, trust, credibility and consensus builder.
