Construction Bookkeeper/Administrator (Direct Hire) Role with Multifaceted Construction Firm

THE ROLE YOU WILL PLAY:
  • Weekly, quarterly and annual reporting earnings, ensuring tax payments and filings, as well
  • Oversee the reconciliation of all AP & AR general ledger accounts
  • Maintain current operating procedures for AP, AR and other assigned areas of responsibilities
  • Process and validate incoming payments, enter data, and resolve discrepancies as they arise
  • Process expense accounts and revenue-related accounts
  • P&L and minimize bookkeeping cycles and errors
  • Back-up administrator of payroll through ADP (permanent employees, but also 1099, subcontractors and commissioned employees)
  • Open enrollment processing and working with a broker
  • Work closely with firm’s outside CPA in preparation of financial and tax preparation
  • Various other duties will be assigned
 
BACKGROUND PROFILE:
  • Associate’s degree in accounting or finance, but candidates with strong experience coming from the construction industry will also be considered
  • Minimum 10 year’s experience in soup to nuts construction bookkeeping (tax filings, ledgers, etc.)
  • Experience handling accounts receivables and accounts payable
  • Experience using accounting software. Prefer QuickBooks experience
  • Payroll software, like ADP is a plus. Back-up payroll or current payroll administration experience is a must
  • MS Office, including Excel
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task
